Taylor Swift, 20, is the youngest person ever to win the Broadcast Music (BMI) country songwriter of the year award, just a week after a bumper charts debut for her new album Speak Now.
She also won the award for country song of the year for You Belong With Me, a hit she co-wrote with Liz Rose. This is her third consecutive year to win the BMI country song of the year award.

Winning the songwriter award had put her in the league of late country music legend Johnny Cash, who won the same trophy in 1956 when he was just 24.
Taylor Swift's songs are mostly about young love and the social perils of high school have gathered her a loyal teen listeners. Earlier this year, she had won four Grammys for her hit album Fearless and her new album Speak Now is expected to be equally successful.
