A Japanese jewellery maker in Tokyo's Ginza district has put on sale a 2011 calendar crafted in pure gold featuring the world-famous rabbit character, Miffy. For some who might not know, Miffy is a small female rabbit in a series of pictures books created by Dutch artist, Dick Bruna.

Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry KK had used 6 kilograms of pure gold for the creation of the calendar of 64 centimeters by 40 centimeters. This special solid gold Miffy calendar celebrates the year of the rabbit in the Chinese zodiac pricing at 55 million yen ($655,000) is on sale at its eight outlets and through online order.
